A campsite in Sarthe with a vibrant leisure base a 2-minute walk away
The leisure centre at La Ferté-Bernard is 100 metres walk from the campsite. C'est un véritable Oasis of peace for lovers of nature and outdoor activities. Situated on the edge of a magnificent body of water, it offers a wide range of activities, such as the swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, playground, etc.
The trails allow you to explore the surrounding landscapes while enjoying a green setting. A picnic area is also available for convivial moments with family or friends. This 45-hectare leisure centre is an ideal place to recharge and have fun in any season. Water and land activities will delight both young and old.

The leisure centre at La Ferté-Bernard presents itself as a true haven of dynamism and pleasure, offering a multitude of activities that will delight young and old alike. In the nautical domain, it offers an experience of swimming refreshing, permitted all year round (unless there are cyanobacteria) and supervised in the afternoon by lifeguards from July 5th to August 31st. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, sailing, pedal boating, stand-up paddleboarding and even boating. Kayak trips on the river are also offered, which is a must-do activity in La Ferté-Bernard.
On the ground level, the leisure centre offers a variety of activities to satisfy sports enthusiasts. Mountain bike hire is available for exploring the magnificent surrounding trails. BMX fans can have fun on a dedicated track. Budding athletes can train on the football or rugby pitch. For a more playful approach, a mini-golf course, a roller rink and an archery range are to be discovered, as well as pedal cars which promise enjoyable family outings around the lake.
Children will enjoy the many playgrounds available to them and a lakeside beach for sunbathing or building sandcastles, before savouring a relaxing moment at the picnic area overlooking the lake. A snack bar/cafe offers food and drink close to the activities.
It is also possible to fish on the banks of the lake or in the surrounding rivers (a fishing permit is required).
Many of these activities are not open all year round, some require bookings and/or are subject to age and/or minimum group size conditions (see below for more information).

People with sailboats, paddleboards, or kayaks can go on the water. Life jackets are mandatory, and it is essential to respect the navigation zone.
Dogs can swim outside the designated human swimming area and the boarding beach.
Summer holiday camps for children
From 7 July to 29 August 2025, the leisure centre is offering multi-activity holiday clubs (Monday to Friday) for children. These clubs, which require booking, are available from 2pm to 5pm from Monday to Thursday and all day Friday with lunch provided. There are two options: one for children aged 6 to 8 and another for children aged 9 and over. Each club includes at least one water activity. The «nautical pass» test is therefore required to participate in the clubs (please contact the leisure centre for more information).
